Ten years ago, the Danish Embassy in Damascus, Syria was attacked as a result of the degrading drawings of the Prophet (saws). This “anniversary”, sparkled a few articles and comments from Danish politicians remembering the period and the incident.
A draft “sensitive” government document intended for the National Security Committee of Cabinet was leaked late last week. The document flags proposals to be forwarded this year by the Minister for Immigration such as greater scrutiny and spying on asylum seekers pre-visa and post-citizenship, an “enforceable integration framework”, and a revamped citizenship test and citizenship pledge.
On Monday the 8th of February 2016 President Bashir was handed the recommendations of the societal dialogue and said: “The dialogue did not come from weakness, dictations or pressures but rather they came from conviction and a deep belief”. On the very same day, the senior consultant from the American Peace Institute Princeton Lyman along with Mrs Susan Baqrin, an official of the Africa department in the American Embassy in Khartoum, undertook a visit to the General Secretary of the National Conference in Friendship Hall.
