The system of governance in Islam is one of unity, not a mere confederation; there is a single Khaleefah (Caliph), a single army, a single treasury, and a unified territory—nation-states and regional entities have no place in Islam. It is one single Ummah, unified in peace and war. Military alliances within the context of today’s existing states serve only to entrench the fragmentation rampant across Muslim lands and perpetuate weakness; they provide a breeding ground for the West, which has drenched these lands in the blood of their own people and harnessed them to serve its own interests. Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (ra) said, (وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَحِلُّ أَنْ يَكُونَ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ أَمِيرَانِ، فَإِنَّهُ مَهْمَا يَكُنْ ذَلِكَ يَخْتَلِفْ أَمَرُهُمْ وَأَحْكامُهُمْ، وَتَتَفَرَّقْ جَمَاعَتُهُمْ، وَيَتَنَازَعُوا فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ، هُنَالِكَ تُتْرَكُ السُّنَّةُ، وَتَظْهَرُ الْبِدْعَةُ، وَتَعْظُمُ الْفِتْنَةُ، وَلَيْسَ لِأَحَدٍ عَلَى ذَلِكَ صَلَاحٌ)  “It is not permissible for the Muslims to have two leaders; for if that were to happen, their affairs and rulings would diverge, their unity would shatter, and they would fall into internal conflict. Consequently, the Sunnah would be abandoned, innovation (bid’ah) would emerge, and strife (fitnah) would escalate—a situation that holds no good for anyone.”

Military alliances lie at the heart of international relations. To understand them correctly, one must grasp the international landscape, identify the influential powers within it, and understand the true nature of these states: are they independent decision-makers, or are they subordinate entities acting under foreign dictation?

Military alliances are agreements between two or more states, committing them to confront a common enemy; examples of such alliances include the coalition of Christian nations during the Crusades against the Islamic State, the alliance of European nations against Germany during the World Wars, and the Warsaw Pact—led by the Soviet Union—confronting NATO, led by the United States.

So, what is the true nature of the trilateral military alliance formed between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey? Who is the common enemy? And is its purpose to champion the causes of Muslims?

Türkiye is a member of the US-led NATO alliance; it cannot fight an alliance to which it belongs, nor can it threaten American interests. Its relations with the Jewish entity are long-standing and robust, remaining officially unaffected by the war of extermination in Gaza or the aggression against Syria and Lebanon. As for Saudi Arabia, it is the primary financier of America’s war against Muslims; US military bases are located on its soil and serve as launchpads for American aggression against them. Regarding Pakistan, its subservience to the United States is as undeniable as the midday sun.

As for the causes of Muslims: Palestine has been under occupation for nearly eighty years, and Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa—the Muslims’ first Qiblah (direction of Shariah prayer) and the Masraa (site of the Night Journey of the Prophet (saw))—has been held captive for sixty years. The crimes committed by Hindus in India and Kashmir, as well as China’s actions against Muslims in East Turkestan, are plain for all to see. The war of genocide in Gaza continues, as does the rampaging of settlers in the West Bank. Lebanon faces the killing of its people, the destruction of its cities, and the leveling of its villages. Syria endures continuous aggression and the occupation of its territory—not to mention the prior crimes of the Bashar Al-Assad regime, which murdered over a million Syrians and displaced half the population with American support and the participation of Russia, Iran, and their militias.

Despite all this, we have seen no alliance formed to champion the causes of Muslims in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Kashmir, Turkestan, or elsewhere. What, then, is the true nature of this alliance? The US President expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of this alliance, and Republican Congressman Joe Wilson stated that President Trump deserves credit for the joint defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan. Meanwhile, the Turkish opposition declared, “We will not turn the Turkish army into a shield for others' wars, nor will we allow Türkiye to become a military contractor or a party to regional conflicts.” Furthermore, US envoys are constantly present in the region, issuing orders and overseeing every minute detail—confirming that this alliance was formed at America's behest.

What, then, drove America to establish this alliance? America is grappling with profound strategic crises, both domestically and internationally:

•    A severe political divide that led to the election of President Trump—who turned America into a global laughingstock—and a situation where his success barely averted a civil war following his supporters' storming of the Capitol.

•    Massive debt exceeding $40 trillion, posing significant economic risks to the status of the dollar and the US-controlled financial transfer system.

•    The Epstein scandals, which eroded public trust in state institutions and politicians.

•    The crimes committed by the Jewish entity in Gaza and the resulting shift in global public opinion, rendering both America and the Jewish entity global pariahs.

•    The war on Iran and America’s failure to secure a decisive victory, as military superiority, airstrikes, and interceptor missiles failed to achieve their objectives.

•    Miscalculations regarding the war’s duration, its impact on the global economy, and the stance of other nations toward it.

•    The depletion of US weaponry and ammunition to critical levels.

•    The draining of the defense budget due to the war’s high costs, alongside the destruction of military bases—necessitating a re-evaluation of the US military presence and the deployment of American bases, which have become exposed and vulnerable. In a lengthy article in the American magazine, Foreign Affairs, Marc Lynch—a professor of political science and international affairs at George Washington University—predicts that observers will witness the fading of the “American Middle East,” just as European empires faded before it.

In short, America’s failure—and its impact on the America’s global standing, its international order and institutions, and the Atlantic alliance—has driven it toward a strategy of “leading from behind.” This involves delegating roles to its regional proxies to achieve specific objectives:

1.  Maintaining regional stability under its sphere of influence.

2.  Safeguarding its interests—foremost among them preserving the Jewish entity and cementing its status as a natural part of the region.

3.  Pressuring Iran to bend it to American policy and render it a subservient state.

4.  Containing China’s rise and controlling supply chains and energy resources.

5.  Subjugating all nations—including those in Europe—to America’s will.

6.  And the most critical objective of all—one that poses an existential threat to both the Jewish entity and the American presence in the Middle East—concerns Islam. There is a looming prospect of a sudden eruption from the region’s peoples, akin to the surprise emergence of the Arab Spring. That movement was ignited by the actions of a single man in a forgotten corner; it set the region ablaze, toppled tyrants and despots, and nearly dismantled everything the West had constructed since the demolition of the Uthmani Khilafah (Ottoman Caliphate).

The Islamic Ummah is alive and will not die; it possesses the capacity for change, driven by its spiritual strength, its fighting ideology, its inherent potential, and the strategic locations and vast wealth with which Allah (swt) has endowed it—assets unmatched by others.

The existence of the West and the Jewish entity hinges upon the presence of rulers who serve as their colonialist instruments. The Ummah is currently in the throes of a battle from which it will emerge victorious—by the Permission of Allah (swt)—for the West has unleashed a war against Allah, against innate human nature, and against humanity itself; a war that will only end with its own defeat.

[وَاللَّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰ أَمْرِهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ]

“And Allah has full power and control over His affairs, but most of mankind know not.” [TMQ Surah Yusuf: 21].
