Trump’s Criticism of India... American Interests, Not Friendship with Pakistan
On July 30, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a series of retaliatory tariffs against India, criticizing it for having “the most burdensome and obnoxious non-tariff trade barriers” and imposing a 25% customs duty along with a fine. While Trump acknowledged a “friendship” with India, he sharply criticized it for purchasing Russian military equipment and cheap oil at a time when the United States was pressuring Russia to end the war in Ukraine. In an unusually public rebuke, Trump described the Russian and Indian economies as “dead” and warned former Russian President Medvedev to “watch his words.”
These seemingly contradictory positions of the American president in fact confirm that America—whether under Trump or anyone else—has no true friend except its own interests. If it befriends someone, it is solely to serve and advance its own interests, not out of affection for the other party. In this context, it is clear that Trump is acting according to this reality—but in the manner of a global gangster and bully, demanding total submission from his clients and subordinate states, such as India and others. He offers verbal praise to those who flatter him and bow to his will, and does not hesitate to demean and insult others who attempt to defy him or delay in showing obedience and submission due to internal pressures. Trump’s policy is nothing but the true face of the United States, as the global leader of secular liberal capitalism. This ideology is what has driven Trump over the past six and a half months to seek a “better deal” that serves only the economic and geopolitical interests of the United States.
The United States has long regarded China and Russia as its main rivals. Thus, it works with all the tools of pressure and agents at its disposal to confront and thwart the policies and ambitions of international blocs led by China and Russia, such as BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and others. For this reason, America has invested heavily in its relationship with India since the late 1990s, using it to contain China. This strategic cooperation continues to this day, with successive Republican and Democratic administrations granting India high-tech military technology, a civilian nuclear agreement, and access to Western economic institutions. This is not out of any love for India, but to fatten and exploit it in confronting its regional rivals—China and Russia.
The Trump administration will not change the strategic direction of the U.S.–India partnership aimed at containing China. Rather, America deals with India through a carrot-and-stick approach. The imposition of tariffs, fines, harsh statements, and U.S. bullying toward India is the stick Trump uses against his “servant” India to compel it to make greater efforts in his service and to further open its domestic market to create opportunities for U.S. companies. In this process, Trump also uses Pakistan to pressure India. This is why he feigns “leaning” toward Pakistan and threatens Modi with destabilizing his government in order to meet American demands on a faster timeline.
O sincere officers in the armed forces of Pakistan! Do not be deceived by America’s public criticism of Modi’s government or by Trump’s praise of Pakistan.
"مِلَّةُ الكُفْرِ وَاحِدَةٌ" “The disbelievers are one nation”; as Allah Almighty has affirmed in His saying:
[وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا تَفْعَلُوهُ تَكُنْ فِتْنَةٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَفَسَادٌ كَبِيرٌ]
“And those who disbelieve are allies of one another; and if you do not do so, there will be fitnah on earth and great corruption.” [TMQ Surah Al-Anfaal 8:73].
The reality is that the strategic partnership between the United States and India remains strong and is aimed against Pakistan and the Muslims of the region. Let us not forget how the Trump administration deceived the Iranian regime in nuclear talks to pave the way for Jewish military strikes on nuclear facilities. Trump has stated in numerous past media interviews his view of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons as a threat, especially given their Islamic character. Former U.S. Deputy National Security Adviser Jon Finer declared at a prominent American think tank in October 2024 that Pakistan’s long-range missile system poses a threat to the United States.
Accordingly, U.S. institutions and intelligence agencies continue to regard Pakistan as a threat. We have seen how the Trump administration provided diplomatic support for India’s attack on Pakistan in May 2025 and pressured Pakistan’s obedient rulers to exercise restraint in the face of Modi’s aggression. Were it not for the courage of our lions and falcons in the armed forces—who forced Modi and Trump into defeat—the outcome would have been disastrous.
O officers in the armed forces of Pakistan! The Islamic world is passing through a critical turning point these days. The temperature in the Muslim street has reached its peak due to the U.S.-backed Jewish genocide in Gaza, making it imperative to unite the Muslim lands under a righteous Caliphate (Khilafah Rashidah). The only obstacle to this is your hesitation in toppling the thrones of Trump’s agent rulers and granting nussrah (support) to Hizb ut Tahrir to establish the Caliphate. Today, the opportunity to establish the Caliphate is within your grasp—do not let it slip away, lest you regret missing it and lose the honor of this world and the bliss of the Hereafter:
[اسْتَجِيبُوا لِرَبِّكُمْ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لَا مَرَدَّ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ مَلْجَإٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِنْ نَكِيرٍ]
“Respond to your Lord before there comes a Day from Allah which cannot be averted. You will have no refuge that Day, nor will you have any denial.” [TMQ Surah Ash-Shuraa 42:47].
