Obituary of a Dawah Carrier
“Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their pledge ˹with their lives˺, others are waiting ˹their turn˺. They have never changed ˹their commitment˺ in the least.” [TMQ Al-Ahzab: 23]
Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah of Lebanon mourns for the brother the dawah carrier, Jamal Suleiman Abu Khaled, who passed away at dawn today, Monday, 17 Muharram 1444 AH, corresponding to 15/08/2022, at the age of 59.
Abu Khaled Suleiman, one of the first men of the call in the cities of Sidon and Tyre and their surroundings, he carried the dawah with honesty and sincerity. We consider him likewise, and Allah is his account, and we do not praise anyone before Allah, in its most difficult days and the darkest circumstances, and the dawah knew him only as a man of good character, good company, serious and persistent in it, loving the dawah and its young generation.
Abu Khaled was insightful in thought, with a clear, sound opinion, and accurate understanding. A young man asked him one day: How long do we carry this call? He replied: “Until death, and he recited the words of Allah the Almighty:
(وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ) “And worship your Lord until certainty (death) comes to you” [TMQ Al-Hijr:99]” and that was what he was. He did not falter in any responsibility or assignment, no matter how many, until the last days of his life, May Allah (swt) have mercy on him.
Abu Khaled worked to establish the Khilafah (Caliphate), and he saw it standing before him, convinced of the promise of Allah the Almighty and the glad tidings of His Messenger, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family.
The eye sheds tears, the heart grieves, and we are saddened by your separation, and we only say what pleases our Lord. (إِنَّا للهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ) “Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will ˹all˺ return.” [TMQ Al-Baqara:156].
