East Turkestan: A Blackout on the Genocide of an Entire People

In East Turkestan, mothers are arrested, children are separated from their families, and underage girls are sterilized... In East Turkestan, a group of people are being slaughtered and exterminated in silence (East Turkestan News Agency, 12/9/2025)

The criminal efforts of the Chinese government in East Turkestan (Uighur region) to erase the identity of its Muslim people are no longer hidden from anyone. It oppresses and subjugates women, prevents them from wearing their Islamic dress and praying. It separates children from their families to brainwash them, indoctrinate them with its atheist culture, and turn them away from Islam. It also sterilizes underage girls to prevent them from producing a new generation of Muslims.

What China is waging in East Turkestan is a war no less dangerous than the Jewish war in Gaza; a genocide war that reveals a deep hatred of Islam and Muslims, a war waged by the enemies of Islam everywhere.

China's war in East Turkestan is a silent war, seeking to annihilate a people, obliterate their identity, uproot them, and divert them from their Deen until they are absorbed into its communist culture. As for the Jewish entity's war, it is declared with weapons and starvation, waged by this usurping entity and its allies to eradicate the lineage of the people of Gaza, occupy their land, and realize the great dream they are planning.

These wars waged by oppressors are nothing but wars of extermination, the goal of which is to eliminate everything related to Islam and Muslims and to uphold the criminal kafir civilization of the oppressors. Supporting one another, they shed the honour and blood, violate sanctities, and seize their lands.

In the face of all this injustice and oppression, we find the people of Gaza firm and steadfast, offering the world lessons in sacrifice and perseverance in defence of their land. We find the Uyghur Muslims unbowed, standing tall like the roots of a land that no dragon could uproot.

Despite the injustice, oppression, and violations to which the people of Turkestan are subjected to, which reveal a brutal crime and a war of extermination, they silently resist the oppression of the Chinese authorities and their coercion to denounce their Deen through threats.

China has established numerous camps to detain every Muslim, torture them, and force them to renounce their Deen and apostatize. These camps are used to brainwash them and indoctrinate them with its atheistic communist culture, deliberately obscuring its repressive practices and brutal policies aimed at exterminating an entire people. Despite this, the stench of its heinous actions has become well known. The US State Department reiterated in its 2024 Annual Report on the State of Human Rights, released on August 12, that China continues to commit genocide and crimes against humanity in East Turkestan. To cover up the rottenness of its policies and crimes, China holds forums such as the "Human Rights Development Forum in Xinjiang" in which it seeks to conceal the truth of its actions. All the topics raised were an attempt to justify its crimes against human rights in East Turkestan and to beautify its ugly image before the world through fictitious events aimed at covering up the oppressive reality, obscuring the truth, and whitewashing the violations it commits against Uyghur Muslims.

For several years, China has continued to organize an exhibition of intangible cultural heritage as part of its policy to beautify its occupation of East Turkestan and promote the policy of nationalist establishment, which is one of the pillars of its crimes of ethnic genocide. Through this exhibition, Chinese propaganda seeks to promote the idea that the heritage of the indigenous peoples of East Turkestan, such as the Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and Kyrgyz, is part of Chinese culture or was shaped under its influence.

O Muslim Ummah: Where are you regarding what is happening to your sons and daughters in East Turkestan?! Why this humiliation and silence? Your sons and daughters resist despite the brutality and oppression they face. They fight with strong and steadfast belief, and they remain proud despite the humiliation of the Chinese authorities. So, what are you waiting for to support them?!

These oppressive kuffar are fighting Islam, embodied in the Uyghurs, seeking to eradicate it and banish it from their hearts. But they remain steadfast and seek help from their brothers and sisters in the Deen. What will you do, O Muslims?

O Muslim Scholars: Your brothers and sisters in Turkestan are being executed so that Islam will not be taken from them. They are the scholars who spread and clarify its rulings. But China seeks to silence them. Where are you regarding spreading your message? Have you spoken about this war that China is silently waging against the Muslims there, exposing it from the pulpits and informing the general public? Have you called upon the Muslim armies and urged them to hasten to put an end to this genocide and ethnic cleansing?

China claimed to be fighting terrorism, and a "peace" conference was organized under the title "Counterterrorism and Maintaining Global Security in the New Situation: Regional and International Responsibilities." It called on the international system to cooperate in combating terrorism and imposing global security. It has become clear what is meant by "terrorism" is Islam and everything it symbolizes as a great and ancient civilization, and working to restore its status and return to life to lead people to the path of salvation and deliverance, erasing every trace of this rotten and corrupt Western civilization.

O Muslims: We, the Women's Section of Hizb ut Tahrir, ask Allah (swt) to bear witness that we have called upon the people of power and protection and issued one cry for help after another, urging scholars, armies, and all those with political decision-making power to put an end to these genocides. We affirmed that this will only happen in a state that unites the dispersed Muslims and restrains the hands of the criminal kuffar.

O Muslims: Our enemies see us as one Ummah and treat us in all Islamic lands as their enemies. They despise and kill our children and seek to exterminate us all. So, when will you take action? When will your blood boil in your veins and you become certain that this is a war of existence? When will you understand that this war is a war between two civilizations: our Islamic civilization and their Western civilization?

When will you realize that these people will not be satisfied with the extermination of the people of Turkestan, nor the people of Gaza, nor the Central African Republic, nor any other Muslims anywhere else?

The issue is much deeper than that; it is a war between a civilization created by the All-Knowing, All-Wise, and a civilization invented by the mind of a barren human being who dared to defy his Creator and establish laws and regulations. How vast is the difference between a civilization established by the All-Wise, All-Aware Creator of the universe and a civilization established by an ungrateful, contemptible servant!
