The notorious U.S. multinational energy corporation, ConocoPhillips' entrance into Bangladesh was an ominous sign. The company is infamous for having affiliated with Bush-Cheney's planning of illegally occupying Iraq and its oil fields in 2003. To secure her throne, in 2011 treacherous Hasina allowed the company to explore an area of 5,158 square kilometres of two deep sea blocks (DS 08-10 & DS 08-11) in the Bay of Bengal. After sparking many controversies during signing the contract, ConocoPhillips now wants the Bangladesh government to hike the gas price from 4.2 dollars per thousand CFT to 7.0 dollars. They also want the contract to be amended for the price to be increased at the rate of 2% every year. According to the local news media, Bangladesh would also have to bear the expense of the construction of 280km long pipeline if the government agrees to the amended conditions. Even though Hasina said in the past that she would not give in to foreign pressure for gas export and would only allow that after setting aside 50 years of gas reserve, she wriggled out of her promise to cause serious harm to the country in favour of ConocoPhillips. The existing contract has a provision for the company to export gas by converting it to Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
Giving away our energy resources to foreign companies would bring fortune to few political elites but the common people would end up in severe economic hardship. All the actions of various political parties against these multinational giants went in vain due to their failure in not addressing the root cause of the problem, which is nothing other than the capitalist democratic system. It is nothing but sheer fantasy to think about protecting natural resources and geopolitically strategic places like the Bay of Bengal from the hands of the imperialists without eradicating this obnoxious democratic system that produces the local slithering maggots under the auspices of the Western embassies in Dhaka. Therefore, we urge everyone to assist us in our struggle to uproot democracy and re-establish the Khilafah "Caliphate". Hizb ut Tahrir is the only party to have outlined a suitable energy policy along with a detailed economic system to lead the nation to success. By the will of Allah (swt) very soon the Khilafah "Caliphate" state will implement the energy policy for Bangladesh to turn it into a leading industrialized nation. That state will never let the natural resources to be in the hands of the private companies or individuals let alone the foreign companies. RasulAllah (saw) said:

On 22 August 2014, another court session was held for Sister Zulfiyya Amanova at the regional court in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. The panel of judges comprised of Kubatov Ayler, Mirzabeckov Bolot and Abdyldaev Almaz. The Court retracted her former punishment of a fine in the amount of 50 thousand Soms, issued by Judge Kojomkulov Ramazan on June 1, 2014, and ordered a new punishment in the form of a 1-year suspended imprisonment.
