News & Comment America Cuts its Losses as It Plans its Exit from Afghanistan

News

On April 4th 2014, Fox News reported that after spending 12 years in occupying Afghanistan, the US is finally withdrawing and leaving behind an estimated $6 billion worth of equipment, which includes military equipment as well as other items. But the discussions equipment disposal masks a deeper malaise in America's ability to win wars.

Comment

It has been reported that some 170 million pounds of vehicles, equipment and "white gear"- that's all the non-military stuff that contractors have been using, like furniture, generators, chemical toilets, air conditioners, non-classified computers and more- are being left behind. Some reports indicate that most of the $6 billion worth of materiel will indeed be sold for scrap or thrown in the junkyard. This includes 850 MRAPS (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles which have been credited with saving countless lives from improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on the road, but now will either be given to an allied country (as long as they pay the shipping costs) or for scrap on the Afghan market.

In the month of February alone, Defence Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services sold 34.7 million pounds of scrap from its own vehicles and equipment to local Afghan vendors, according to figures provided to FoxNews.com. And in the past 12 months, the agency sold 387 million pounds of scrap, sending $46.5 million back to the U.S. Treasury. According to figures supplied by Army spokesperson Wayne Hall, there is currently $15.5 billion worth of Army equipment still in the country -- and $17.6 billion worth of overall U.S. military equipment, Wright said. The Army plans to retain $10.2 billion of that, including things like trucks, trailers, and MRAPs, as well as about 100,000 20-foot shipping containers carrying repair parts and other small equipment and supplies. What the US cannot, or will not, donate or sell to the Afghans or to allies is being destroyed so that it doesn't fall into the hands Taliban.

While the US deliberates on how to dispose of its military equipment, the cost of the war effort continues to mount. According to the Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government 2013 report, this accounted for roughly 20 per cent of the total amount added to the US national debt between 2001 and 2012. The report states: "The Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, taken together, will be the most expensive wars in US history-totalling somewhere between $4 trillion and $6 trillion. This includes long-term medical care and disability compensation for service members, veterans and families, military replenishment and social and economic costs. The largest portion of that bill is yet to be paid."
So after having spent circa $6 trillion in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to suppress Islam, America is exiting after witnessing defeat and humiliation. Both countries are increasingly unstable and are fast becoming hubs for Islamic revival not democracy. This increasingly threatens not only America's primacy in the Middle East and Eurasia, but also spells the end of decades of Western dominance.

Allah says in the Quran:

((إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُنْفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَسَيُنْفِقُونَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسْرَةً ثُمَّ يُغْلَبُونَ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ يُحْشَرُونَ))

"Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to avert [people] from the way of Allah . So they will spend it; then it will be for them [source of] regret; then they will be overcome. And those who have disbelieved - unto Hell they will be gathered." [TMQ: Al-Anfal: 36]

News and Comment Which Progress and Which Achievement is Kerry Talking about?

Miliband, President of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) Charity and Former British Foreign Secretary said, "According to the report, 5 million Afghans require vital support such as food, housing and emergency medical care, while a further 4 million have longer-term needs including safety from conflict, regular employment and access to healthcare. Some 650,000 Afghans are displaced within the country, while 2.5 million are refugees".

In a statement on April 2, Kerry said, "The peaceful handover of power will be ‘just as important as the progress achieved over the past decade in building a stronger, more secure and prosperous Afghanistan.'"

Comment

Over a decade of U.S. presence in Afghanistan and its efforts to impose an exported system (Democracy & Capitalism) upon Afghanistan with the help of B-52 and massive bribery, the results have been a human catastrophe. Afghanistan has been pushed into a tragic abyss. The presence of U.S. and NATO forces have brought with them corruption and devastation.

The above are two pertinent statements from two very high officials that are paradoxical to each other. Miliband is referring to the situation that to some extent is addressing the reality on the ground, while Kerry, as usual, is trying to lie and to give the impression that much has been done in the last 13 years. The reality is that both Miliband and Kerry are responsible for the corruption, poverty, killings of the innocent Muslims of Afghanistan by both U.S. and UK.

Today, people are again being given a false hope, to place their trust in the elections that are going to happen on 5th April, 2014. Like previous two elections that saw huge fraud, in this election too, it goes without an iota of doubt that the U.S. will bring another pawn that could fit well in their agenda for Afghanistan and the region. Spending millions of dollars on the campaigns through media and other sources, U.S. is desperately trying to make this election a success, and hence provide the US with some credibility and ‘face saving' in the context of its drawdown of military presence in Afghanistan.

Kerry indeed acts as if he is blind to the reality Afghans are facing on daily bases. As mentioned by IRC millions of Afghans are devoid of basic necessities i.e. food, clothes and shelter. There is nothing called ‘security and peace' in Afghanistan; the country suffers from poverty and illiteracy; moreover corruption at state-level has made Afghanistan number-1 in the world amongst the top corrupt countries. It must be asked, which progress and which achievement is Kerry talking about?

Indeed Afghanistan will dwell further into the darkness of poverty, chaos and turmoil as long as the U.S. and NATO forces are present here. Rolling up their entire of presence along with their imposed failed system is the only way forward to bring peace and prosperity in Afghanistan.
These western leaders will continue giving contradictory statements and figures in an attempt to conceal their heinous crimes and to try to continue to deceive the people in Afghanistan and the region.

It is clearly hypocritical how Miliband is highlighting his concern of the human suffering, from the platform of a charity, while he himself played the role of bringing and supporting this devastation in Afghanistan. The likes of Miliband and Kerry should know well, that their crimes against humanity in Afghanistan cannot be white-washed by issuing statements of concern or throwing breadcrumbs as charity.

A complete removal, of the imperial presence in the country, can be swiftly achieved by a righteous leadership of Khilafah "Caliphate". The current capitalist system in the country is already on life-support, and can barely function. A complete replacement of the present system, with the system of Islam is required today. The Islamic model of governance and its Systems (Economics, Law etc.) will enable the people of Afghanistan to liberate themselves from the hegemony of imperial powers and their handful of puppets

News and Comment Democratic elections; the only tool to legitimize the colonialist invasion (Translated)

News

All the westernized media are tirelessly propagating that "today on 16th Hamal (5th April) people are going to vote for their favorite candidate who would rule the country for the term of 5 years. The new president would be elected on the bases of majority votes through an independent and transparent process and Afghanistan will move in a direction which the people of Afghanistan want".

Comment

Election in its essence is a permissible act but what makes it prohibited is its purpose. A democratic election which is based on (50+1) majority is indeed a lie and prohibited by Shariah, because this makes human being sovereign who by majority can do legislation. Moreover, if we look at the concept of ‘free elections' we can easily say that in the presence of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan it's not possible to conduct free and fair elections, rather the invaders are using the forged process to legitimize their existence as done in many other Islamic lands. In fact, the objective of the rulers is not to safeguard its people but to protect the interests of their masters. The best examples to illustrate this fact are the recent referendum of Crimea, Afghan elections as well as the internal rivalry between Erdogan and Ghul of Turkey are all manifest examples.
In Afghanistan's previous elections, the number of participants was substantially low that brought the whole system and democratic process under question. From approximately 30 million population less than 4 million people voted in which a large portion was forged votes.

Among these 4 million votes Hamid Karzai got 2 million. Further scrutiny of those two million votes would have proved that even in this majority were bogus votes that could further reduce it to one million. It is because of this that western intelligence agencies through their puppet organizations and its private security companies have launched a heinous campaign of bomb blasts, meeting the so called Ulema, media, officials, civil society and all of them combined to put their efforts to create public opinion for the elections and show. It as if this is the only opportunity people have to change their future, and only by voting in the elections they could curb the influence of the "terrorist and extremists", in fact people are made reactionary as a result of the negative campaign and are told that your vote will defeat those who are creating chaos in Afghanistan.

However, the issue that in the south and eastern provinces around 60% people are not taking part in elections is there, because apart from the centers of these provinces all the other areas are out of the government control. Similarly good numbers of people in Central, North and North-West of Afghanistan have understood the Islamic verdict on democratic elections and are not taking part in it. Yet despite this, the corrupt government agencies will put bogus votes in the boxes and bring it to the center for counting to demonstrate the elections as success.

In addition, if we look at the process and the number of people who will vote in the elections, we can say that again a minority of society will vote, which will be publicized as a great achievement for the system of Democracy in Afghanistan. Using this forge process people are given the sense that it's their vote that will elect someone who will follow their aspirations.

It is evident that the people of Afghanistan want Islam and that is why they fought wars with Britain, then U.S.S.R and now U.S. and NATO. The people of Afghanistan have experienced and witnessed the fallacies and corruption of the secular democratic system. It is in this democratic system that innocent Muslims are being killed on daily bases; their houses are raid, their religion abused, poverty, vulgarity and the implementation of Kufr laws through the democratically elected parliament is what the people of Afghanistan witness.
