“Peace” as a Cover for Occupation

The so-called agreement between the occupying state “Israel” and Hamas, orchestrated by Washington, is presented in the Western media and sadly also in parts of the Muslim world as a step towards peace. In reality, it is nothing but a repetition of an old pattern: the colonial project “Israel” is further consolidated and protected, while its crimes are covered with the cloak of “peace.”

Terms such as “ceasefire” and “humanitarian aid” sound conciliatory, but in reality they are a cynical tool. For how can one speak of aid, while the very powers that organize the aid convoys are the same ones providing the bombs and the diplomatic cover with which Gaza has been destroyed? How can a ceasefire be credible, when “Israel” has repeatedly violated agreements whenever it suited its interests?

History is clear: decades of expulsions, collective punishments, and genocide carried out by “Israel,” supported by America, the West, and the treacherous regimes in the Muslim lands. Justice or compensation has never been delivered to the Palestinian people, and this agreement will be no exception. The same pattern was seen earlier in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Sudan, and numerous other Muslim lands: countries are destroyed under the guise of peace and stability, but in reality handed over to occupation, division, and chaos.

Thus, one remains trapped in a vicious cycle: temporary agreements sold as “peace,” but which in reality only entrench the occupation further. “Israel” gains time, legitimacy, and security, while the Palestinians are left with blockades, humiliation, and broken promises.

True “peace” will never be achieved as long as the core injustice: the colonial occupation of Palestine, continues to exist. The only real solution lies in the return of Palestine as part of the Khilafah (Caliphate), with the Muslims united under one Khalifah (caliph) who defends the interests of the Ummah and brings the colonial project to an end once and for all. As long as the oppressor is rewarded and the oppressed are urged to be patient, Palestine will continue to be betrayed in the name of a “peace” that is in reality nothing more than occupation in a new guise.
