The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, stated that Malaysia maintains its stance that all disputes in the Middle East must be solved through peaceful means to de-escalate the heightening tensions in the region. According to him, dialogue, diplomacy, and close cooperation between nations are the only avenues to ease tensions and restore stability, in accordance with humanitarian demands and the principles of universal justice. He made these remarks during telephone conversations with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, Prince Salman Hamad Al-Khalifa, and the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed Zayed Al-Nahyan, on March 24, 2026.

We want to ask; what kind of statement is this? Desiring dialogue, diplomacy, and cooperation with an enemy that slaughters our brethren inhumanely, encroaches upon our lands, and insults our religion? Is the brutal massacre of over 70,000 Muslims and the massive devastation in Gaza – not to mention the killings and destruction they have wrought in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and now Iran – not enough for us to realize that they are an enemy that has never understood the language of diplomacy and cannot be tolerated?

This statement is not only entirely detached from reality but also seemingly denies the injunctions of Jihad so abundantly found in the Quran and Hadith. The issue at hand is that our brethren are being attacked and our lands are being invaded. We wish to ask; if Malaysia were to be invaded, and our families, neighbours, friends, and relatives were brutally murdered, and the aggressors sought to entirely usurp our homeland, would we then negotiate, engage in dialogue, and cooperate with the enemy in the name of achieving peace?

If the aggressors demanded that we dismantle our military strength, sought to seize our natural resources, expelled us from our homes, and intended to strip our nation of its sovereignty, would we invite them to dialogue and cooperate in the name of peace? Verily, only cowards, fools, and traitors would dialogue and cooperate with the enemy, selling out their nation to the enemy, surrendering the country's natural wealth to the foe, and allowing their nation to be destroyed and their brethren to be brutally murdered by the enemy!

Allah (swt) has already provided us with the answer and the solution when facing an enemy that is waging war against us – not through dialogue, diplomacy, or cooperation. He declares:

[وَقَاتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ يُقَاتِلُونَكُ]

“And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you” [Al-Baqarah (2): 190].

This is the decree from our Lord and the Lord of the worlds: that indeed, Jihad Fi Sabilillah (war in the path of Allah) is the absolute sole solution when we are attacked, our lands are seized, and our brethren are killed. All Muslim lands are obligated to unite under one leadership, one banner, and one war to fight the enemy. This is the command of Allah, and this is the definitive solution for the Muslim Ummah.

Verily, the catastrophe befalling this Ummah is due to none other than their cowardly, foolish, and treacherous leaders. Furthermore, these leaders act as agents or puppets of the enemy, constantly kneeling before them and forcing their people to submit to the enemy alongside them. Indeed, it is an obligation upon Muslims to reject such leaders and even to overthrow them, so that this Ummah may once again reclaim its victory and glory.

Islam has never, and will never, achieve victory through the hands of cowardly, foolish, and treacherous leaders. Instead, it will triumph through the hands of leaders who are trustworthy, pious, wise, and courageous – fearing none but Allah. It is not merely a Sharia requirement for this Ummah to possess such leaders; rather, history has recorded how Islam was established, propagated, and elevated to a global superpower solely under leaders who were trustworthy, pious, wise, courageous, and feared none but Him. The Islamic Caliphate, spanning over 1,300 years, stands as a testament to this truth, wherein Islam governed more than a third of the world because it possessed Caliphs who were like lions in the battlefields and politics, never yielding to their enemies.

History also documented that global peace is only attainable under the Caliphate, which functions as the shield of the Ummah, the implementer of Sharia, and the disseminator of mercy. The world has never been, and will never be, peaceful when led by disbelieving powers (Kuffar) or by Ruwaibidhah (incompetent and corrupt) rulers, all of whom act as predators upon the Ummah. How can the sheep be safe if the wolves still roam?

Therefore, to whoever yearns for global peace while simultaneously dismantling kufr (disbelief), we call upon you to join Hizb ut Tahrir in our works to re-establish al-Khilafah ar-Rashidah Ala Minhaj Nubuwwah (the Rightly Guided Caliphate upon the Method of the Prophethood) – a noble work whose victory has already been promised by Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), through the hands of those who believe and do righteous deeds:

[وَعَدَ اللهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الأرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَى لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا يَعْبُدُونَنِي لا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا وَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ]

“Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them [therein] their religion which He has preferred for them and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security, [for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me. But whoever disbelieves after that - then those are the defiantly disobedient” [An-Nur (24): 55].
