Obituary of a Dawah Carrier

[مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُ

وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلاً]

“Among the believers are men who have proven true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their pledge ˹with their lives˺, others are waiting ˹their turn˺. They have never changed ˹their commitment˺ in the least.” [TMQ Al-Ahzab 33:23]

With Iman in Allah's decree and with acceptance of His will, Hizb ut Tahrir / America mourns the passing away of our beloved brother Sajid Rahman this morning, Wednesday, the 16th of Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to July 1st, 2026.

Sajid Rahman was a sincere, principled, humble, generous and steadfast figure of the Da’wah who dedicated his life to the revival of the Ummah and to resume the Islamic way of life. He opened his home and his heart for the Da’wah and worked tirelessly to call for the re-establishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate) until his last breath.

With his passing, we have lost a caller to Allah Almighty, a man who remained unshakable in his mission and an example of activism, carrying the Da’wah until the final moments of his life. Indeed, the heart grieves and the eyes shed tears, and we are truly saddened by your departure, Sajid Rahman. We say only what pleases our Lord: [إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ] “Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return” [Al-Baqarah 2:156].

Ya Rabb, grant him Janat al-Firdaus al-‘Ala, widen his grave, ease his reckoning, envelop him in Your mercy, grant him a spacious place in Jannah with the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous, and how excellent a company they are! Ya Rabb, join us with him in Jannah and grant us, his family, relatives, friends, and loved ones patience and solace.
