The recent statements by the US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, describing Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as “an important part of India,” and the subsequent theatrical protest by the Pakistani Foreign Ministry summoning the American Charge d’Affaires in Islamabad, reveal once again the depth of deception that characterizes the political objectives of the kuffar (disbelieving) colonial powers and their agent regimes in the Muslim world.

The Hindustan Times Newspaper reported on August 19 that Ambassador Gor, during his first visit to Srinagar – the first standalone visit by a serving US Ambassador since 2019 when India formally annexed the territory by revoking its special status – declared Jammu and Kashmir to be “an important part of India.” This was no mere diplomatic courtesy but a calculated declaration of allegiance to the Hindu State for the Occupation of Kashmir.

The Pakistani regime’s response, as reported by Al Jazeera on August 20, was to summon the American diplomat and lodge what Islamabad described as a “strong demarche,” rejecting the characterisation of Indian-occupied Kashmir as “a part of India.” What does this theatrical exchange truly demonstrate? It demonstrates that the dispute over Kashmir has always been defined by the kuffar colonial powers and their shifting strategic calculations. Ambassador Gor’s statement is therefore not a mistake. It is not the “diplomatic misstep” but a deliberate signal for Hindu nationalist to continue its occupation of Kashmir.

The Pakistani regime’ response – summoning the American diplomat, lodging a “strong demarche,” and reasserting Kashmir's status as disputed territory – is nothing more than political theatre. It is the performance of a puppet that has been ordered to appear indignant while remaining utterly obedient.

Pakistan’s ruling factions – whether military or civilian, whether nominally “Islamic” or openly secular – have always been agents of the colonialist powers. The Pakistani state has never genuinely sought the liberation of Kashmir. It has used the Kashmir issue as a tool of legitimacy, mobilising public sentiment when it needed to distract from its own failures, while privately accepting the status quo. The Pakistani military has fought wars over Kashmir not to liberate the Muslims of Kashmir but to maintain its own power and privileges and nation state interests.

The fundamental issue that both the American colonialists and their Pakistani agents refuse to address is that Kashmir is Muslim land. The American position on Kashmir, whether it recognises the territory as “an important part of India” or as a “disputed territory,” is irrelevant to the rights of the Muslims of Kashmir. The only position that matters is the position of Islam. The only authority that has the right to govern all Muslim lands including Kashmir is the authority of the Khilafah – the Islamic state that will unify all Muslim lands under the Shariah ruling governance.

The Pakistani regime’s demand that Washington “keep its public language consistent” with the stance that Kashmir is disputed is a demand for the colonialist master to maintain the fiction that the dispute is open-ended, so that the Pakistani regime can continue to use the issue as a tool of legitimacy in front of the Muslims, while doing nothing to actually liberate the Kashmiri Muslims.

The Pakistani regime, for all its theatrical outrage, understands this perfectly. It will not renounce the colonialist nation-state order. It will continue to serve American interests while complaining about American language. The Muslims in Kashmir will continue to suffer under Indian occupation while the Pakistani regime issues statements.

The Hindu state persecutes Muslims in Kashmir and elsewhere with American connivance. The Pakistani regime protests while maintaining its alliance with the same American power it claims to challenge. The Kashmiri Muslims are caught between two colonial systems – neither of which represents them, neither of which defends them, and neither of which has any legitimacy in Islam.

The solution for Kashmir is not the choice between India and Pakistan. The choice is not between American recognition of Kashmir as “part of India” and American recognition of Kashmir as “disputed territory.” The choice is between the colonial order and the Islamic order. The choice is between the rule of the kuffar and the rule of Allah (swt).

The call to the people of military power and protection in Pakistan, the sincere military officers, is a call to the Shariah obligation of granting nussrah (military support) for the re-establishment of the Khilafah. Let them be the Ansar of this Ummah and not be resurrected as the people of disgrace who watched while the Ummah was being subjugated and slaughtered.

Allah (swt) says,

[وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ ۚ إِلَّا تَفْعَلُوهُ تَكُنْ فِتْنَةٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَفَسَادٌ كَبِيرٌ]

“And those who disbelieve are allies of one another. If you do not do so, there will be fitnah on earth and great corruption” [TMQ Surah Al-Anfal: 73].
