The Significance of Erdogan’s Visit to Saudi Arabia and Egypt

The first matter that must be examined in Erdoğan’s visit to his counterparts, Ibn Salman and al-Sisi, is to understand their ties to the major powers, especially the world’s leading power, and what that state wants from them in the current circumstances; for it is the major powers that dominate the international scene, and shape the course of other states and their mutual relations.
Through this visit and its outcomes, as well as their prior actions, it becomes clear that Erdoğan, Ibn Salman, and al-Sisi are all linked to America, the world’s leading power, and that it seeks something specific from them at this juncture.
In the meeting between Erdogan and bin Salman, they announced their agreement on all issues in the region according to American plans. They supported Trump's plan to stop the fighting in Gaza, and they had previously pleaded with him, along with Sisi and their ilk, to implement this plan in order to escape embarrassment before their people because of it. They abandoned the people of Gaza based on American orders, under the pretext of “not expanding the scope of the war,” meaning, leave the Jewish entity to kill and destroy, and do not interfere. They reaffirmed their loyalty to Trump by participating in his Gaza administration “Board of Peace,” which he established under his own chairmanship. Thus, the pharaoh of our time belittled them and they obeyed, which emboldened him to go further and declare that he wants it transformed into a global board to resolve every world issue in America’s favor, replacing the UN Security Council, where other major powers hold veto rights that can obstruct American initiatives.
The same pattern appeared in his meeting with al-Sisi, where Erdoğan stressed complete alignment on all issues, especially Gaza according to the American plan, and the two agreed to elevate relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
In both visits, broad economic agreements were signed to lend them an appearance of cooperation that benefits the people, dangling false hopes and arrogant promises that their economic situation will improve, all to hide the genuine political objectives behind these moves.
When we examine the context of these meetings and the alignment of their parties across every political domain in the present circumstances, knowing their ties, their treacherous stances, and their fixation on Gaza, we see that it is connected to American pressure on the Jewish entity, which continues to stall on implementing the Trump plan, including withdrawal from Gaza, especially now that the second phase has begun. It persists in its aggression, at times killing dozens in a single day, continues demolishing homes and driving out their inhabitants, manipulates the entry of aid and the opening of crossings for people to leave without return, and refuses to allow Turkey any role in Gaza under Trump’s administration. Alongside the Iranian sector, where it demands that the United States deliver a crushing blow to topple the regime, even though it orbits firmly in America’s sphere. Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia oppose that strike and instead back the conclusion of an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program that would supersede the 2015 deal, known as the 5+1 agreement, allowing America to monopolize it, sideline the other five parties, and turn it into “-5+1;” this would also send a message from Trump to the pampered Jewish entity that other states such as Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia are important to America, and perform roles no less significant than its own, albeit through softer methods.
Thus, it emerges that America stands behind Erdoğan’s visits and his alignment with Ibn Salman and al-Sisi, despite the fact that only yesterday he portrayed them as adversaries and declared it could never meet them after the coup against Morsi and after the killing of the Saudi journalist Khashoggi. Yet it moved swiftly to reconcile with them, selling out the Muslim Brotherhood and the Khashoggi affair, as is its habit in betraying those who trust it. It opened a new chapter with these two regimes to back it in accordance with American dictates and to carry out important tasks for it in the region.
The Jewish entity cannot risk its relationship with Egypt. It takes care to keep that relationship sound so Egypt remains bound by the Camp David Accords, which removed it from the conflict and preserved the southern front as a secure buffer zone for “Israel.” The Gaza war has proven exactly that, as the Egyptian regime did not stir to aid its people while they faced genocide over two years, and instead blocked any Egyptian popular movement to support their brothers.
Likewise, the Jewish entity is keen on normalization with Saudi Arabia, satisfied with its spectator stance toward the genocide being practiced in Gaza. Riyadh has submitted to American orders in the same manner as virtually all existing regimes in Muslim countries, especially those close to Palestine.
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey’s reaffirmation of strengthened ties, alignment on every issue, particularly Gaza, and insistence on implementing the Trump plan, embarrasses the Jewish entity, compels it to carry out that plan, and diminishes its ability to act in a spoiled manner toward America, as though it were the one applying pressure on Washington.
Trump expressed his confidence in and affection for Erdoğan in front of Netanyahu at the White House on April 7, 2025, stating: “He is always there when I need him. He is such a tough guy, he is tough as you can be but we love him... Any problem that you have with Turkey, I think I can solve. I mean, as long as you're reasonable, you have to be reasonable. We have to be reasonable.” He also voiced confidence in Erdoğan’s ability to deceive others on America’s behalf, as he has done in numerous countries, especially Syria over the past 14 years. What he accomplished there is regarded by America as a tremendous achievement, as Trump and his envoy Barrack have stated. He acted as its broker, purchasing Al-Jolani at a bargain price and turning him into an American asset. Al-Jolani rejected the return of Islamic rule in Syria, launched a campaign against those calling for its establishment, and sentenced them to prison terms of up to ten years. He declared that he seeks peace and normalization with the Jewish entity and has no desire to fight it and he has confirmed it. He has never once responded to its repeated aggressions or its occupation of southern Syria. Instead, he formed a joint security cell with it there and has begun taking rapid steps in that direction, alongside joining the US-led international coalition to combat Islam.
In this way he has so far thwarted the objectives of the Syrian revolution which arose to apply Islam, declare Jihad for the liberation of the Golan and Palestine, and eliminate American influence as embodied in the former regime under Bashar Al-Assad. In his place came someone even better for America, because he can deceive people by feigning religiosity in the manner of his mentors Erdoğan and Fidan.
It should not be said that strengthening relations among Muslim lands ought to be viewed positively and supported, for the matter has malicious objectives and is far from innocent. It serves to entrench American influence in the region and implement its projects. It confirms the fragmentation of these countries, the perpetuation of their corrupt regimes, and the rule of governors loyal to the disbelievers. What Islam demands is the severing of the ties with America, holding fast to the rope of Allah (swt), and working to unify these lands, along with the rest of the Muslim world, into a single state that implements Islam, declares Jihad to liberate the occupied lands, rescues the oppressed Muslims, revives the Ummah, and distributes its wealth to its people rather than handing it over to America.
