Uganda Needs More Than Trump

News:

Recently the main Opposition political leader in Uganda, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) 43, welcomed the US intervention similar to what happened in Venezuela ahead of polls on January 15, 2026 if President Museveni rigs the election.

Comment:

As all capitalist democratic governments in the world and Africa, particularly Uganda, have a long history of abusing basic rights of the people, Museveni’s government which has been into power since 1986 is well known for this. According to Amnesty International Report2024, some of the abuse includes arbitrary arrests, detentions, denied freedom of expression, enforced disappearances and even killings.

Despite The United Nations and Amnesty International being among the watchdogs of Uganda’s elections, the government has always been abusing the weak majority helpless people of Uganda before and after elections. For example, during the 2021 election, there were wide spread protests that led dozens to be killed by the police, and the internet was cut for more than a week.

After all, this has been done before the eyes of the Western Colonial instutions such as the United Nations, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International as well as Western capitalist states.

It is a shame that the opposition leaders in Uganda whom claim that they are fighting for the people of Uganda turn to these colonial states and organizations for solutions on their political and economic crisis.

Uganda, like many African countries, has many resources including 242,034 square kilometers of land of which 6.9 million hectares are arable land representing 34.41% of the country’s total land area and has a population of about 33.6 million people. If the land is only properly utilized, it can feed more than 200 million people. The country has estimated oil reserves of 6.5 billion barrels, with promising oil fields discovered around Lake Albert, a favorable climate, and significant deposits of minerals such as copper, cobalt, limestone, and gold.

All these resources do not benefit the people of Uganda but Western colonial exploitative companies while leaving the majority under extremely poverty. The fertile soil which is concentrated around the highland is mainly used by the international investors to grow high-value cash crops such as coffee, tea, cocoa, and sugar cane, and oil has been given to companies such as Tullow Oil from the United Kingdom and the China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

It is up to the people of Uganda to fight their real enemy which is the ideology of capitalism, it’s evil political system of democracy and its exploitative economic system upon which the public resources are owned and benefit the few.

Furthermore, we are calling upon the people of Uganda to study Islam justly and sincerely in which they would find Islamic solutions in all spheres of life that can only be implemented by the Khilafah (Caliphate) State.
