Only the Khilafah (Caliphate) Truly Cares for the Interests of the People and is the Guardian of their Rights and Needs
(Translated)
The dire situation Sudan has reached following the brutal war that began two years ago between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces is no secret. Unfortunately, the innocent people of Sudan have paid, and continue to pay, the price of this abhorrent international conflict waged by local weapons aimed at tearing the country apart and protecting the interests of America, Europe, and others!!
Every sincere person in this Ummah wonders how the two warring parties were content to stain their hands with the blood of their brothers, and how they accepted to be guided by their own interests and those of their masters?! Had they feared Allah, they would not have accepted what is happening! Had Islam been implemented, Western countries would not have been able to roam the country freely and implement their agendas by inciting the warring parties and supplying them with weapons and equipment!
Governance in Islam is primarily based on taking care of the affairs of the people and ensuring their interests and needs. It primarily ensures security and safety for all its subjects. The Caliph is aware that he will be questioned before Allah about what he has been entrusted with. Therefore, he does his utmost to ensure the safety of the people and secure their lives, as he realizes that killing a single person is worse in the sight of Allah than demolishing the Kaaba! Therefore, the Imam is a shield to be protected by, as he protects and repels aggression and safeguards lives, money and property as well. That is why Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to apply medication on the charity camels himself for fear that they would perish, and he said: “If a camel were to perish by accident on the banks of the Euphrates, I fear that Allah would question the family of al-Khattab.”
And to Allah we complain about the plight of our brothers in Sudan, where their lives are being unjustly taken, women are being raped, and their property is being stolen. All of this is happening in full view of those in power and those fighting them. They have no fear of Allah in dealing with them, because their concern is not the affairs of the people, their lives, and their property, but rather their sole concern is the throne (seats of power) and their own interests!
Furthermore, under the rule of the Islamic Khilafah, the theft of the wealth and resources of the Islamic Ummah and its delivery on a golden platter to the kafir West is absolutely prohibited. Therefore, the Caliph safeguards them and spends them in the ways prescribed by Islamic law, and he strikes with an iron fist anyone who dares to harbour greed or seek to seize them!
Likewise, under Islamic rule, the state preserves the unity of the country, prevents its disintegration and division, and declares jihad when necessary to preserve the unity of Muslims and protect it from any dissension. Only the Khilafah, throughout the ages, has been able to integrate Persians, Arabs, Berbers, Turks, non-Arabs, and other people without this ethnic and religious diversity having any negative impact on their coexistence. Rather, all of them were fused in the crucible of the great Islam.
The Khilafah guaranteed everyone their basic and even luxury needs to the best of its ability. The Caliph spent resources on managing the Ummah’s affairs and serving its interests, so that people could live in abundance, prosperity, blessings, and contentment. Ibn Khaldun mentioned in his introduction that the amount brought to the Muslim treasury in Baghdad during the reign of the Abbasid Caliph Al-Ma'mun was equivalent today to $70 billion and 1,700 tons of gold!! May Allah have mercy on the just Caliph Omar ibn Abdul Aziz, who did not find a single poor person in his Khilafah deserving of Zakat!
Who among us can forget that Sudan, whose people are currently suffering from famine, was, under Islam, the breadbasket of all Muslims!!
All the rulings of Islam are good, and their correct implementation ensures a dignified life. For example, by implementing the rulings of the Islamic economic system, usury, monopoly, unemployment, favoritism, and fraud will disappear, and everyone will receive their due in work and positions.
By implementing the Islamic educational system, education at all levels will once again be available to everyone, not limited to the wealthy and powerful. The state will have the scientific and technological superiority necessary for heavy industries, modern warfare tools, and other such endeavors. Indeed, the Islamic state will regain leadership in technology and science, as it did in the past, when European kings sent their children to study at Islamic universities to promote their development and prosperity!
By implementing the rules of the social system, immodesty and promiscuity will be prohibited, and the honour of Muslim women will be protected, even if it requires mobilizing armies, as al-Mu'tasim did when a Muslim woman cried out, "O Mu'tasim!!
In conclusion, the Khilafah truly looks after the interests of the people and is a guardian of their rights and needs. Therefore, Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyya, may Allah have mercy on him, said: “The foundation and basis of the Shariah are based on governance and the interests of the servants in this life and the Hereafter. It is entirely just, merciful, fulfilling interests, and wisdom. Every issue that deviates from justice to injustice, from mercy to its opposite, from interest to corruption, and from wisdom to futility is not from the Shariah. The Shariah is Allah’s justice among His servants, His mercy among His creation, and His shade on His earth.” (I’lam al-Muwaqqi’in ‘an Rabb al-’Alamin)
It is well-known that when all Muslims adopted the path of Islam, as a state and as individuals, they were the first people in civilization, progress, advancement and knowledge. They lived a comfortable life and were a beacon of light and justice for the worlds. Therefore, Sudan and all Islamic countries will not be reformed except by what reformed their situation in the past, and the tragic situation there will not change except by establishing Allah’s law, which stops injustice, takes revenge for the oppressed from the oppressors, collects rights from those who refuse to give them and fulfills them for those who deserve them.
